Print Shop w logo creator [Posted on 2007-11-15] The best you can expect from Broderbund or is it Encore? Anyway don't buy this product because of the logo creator like I did. Save your $$ and buy the less expensive version of Print Shop which is just as good for most desktop publishing needs. The logo creator needs a LOT of upgrading. Not that user-friendly and the import feature is a pain to use and does not work most of the time.
Mad and Disappointed !!! Beware!!! [Posted on 2008-01-06] I would give this product a negative -10 rating if I could. Don't buy this product unless you have some weird desire to harm your computer or an enemy you want to get even with.
I happen to own Windows Vista. When I purchased this product I noticed under system requirements it didn't list Vista, only Windows 98 / Me / 2000 / XP. Despite this situation software products usually work anyway or the software company offers updates or patches that I can download to make the program compatible with Vista. That diffidently didn't happen with this product.
Within minutes of downloading and bringing up this product my computer began to experience problems. The software didn't come up and claimed that there was an error that could harm my computer and needed to shut down. After restarting my computer I looked throughout the website and found the Vista compatibility patch which I happily downloaded. Like other programs I've purchased, I thought this would solve all the problems. But... NO!!! When I got the propublisher back up I was able to play around with it for a while but not for long since it was getting late and needed to go to bed.
The following day while doing other things on my computer... THE COMPUTER CRASHED! My computer basically stated that it needed to shut down unexpectedly because of an error that could harm my computer and one of the suggestions to fix the problem was to erase the software. Frustrated, mad, and disappointed I uninstalled this software from my computer. I continued to have problems despite uninstalling. My computer crashed on and off for the past month, more often whenever I left the computer alone for a while.
Some of my other software programs began having problems and today while on my computer (after another crash) my windows program automatically researched what the problem was and stated... "This problem was caused by an unrecoverable hardware error that caused the operating system to stop functioning". What's really sad about this situation is I wasted a lot of money on a product I can't take back and my computer is practically new. I just got it six months ago. I'm still trying to figure out how to resolve this problem. I have a relative who works with computers for a living. He will hopefully know what to do. I'll try to update this later.
Print Shop Pro Publisher 22 Deluxe [Posted on 2008-06-10] I've had earlier versions of Print Shop before and was looking forward to this version as it said it was Vista compatible. Unfortunately it did not work with Vista, even with the recommended patch. If you have Vista, wait until they get the bugs worked out.
Keep The Logo Creator... Nix the Print Shop. [Posted on 2008-12-21] When I bought this product I thought it was going to do some really good graphic design things much like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator(but for a much cheaper price of course). I loved the Logo Creator and I still use it today for my business; however, the Print Shop Pro is not professional at all. As a matter of fact, you can't even make photos or images opaque! I wanted to create a specific sized invitation and I had the hardest time trying to change the margins. Also, if your printer doesn't accept full-bleed printing, you will not be able to change the margins to make it full-bleed and have a professional printing company print it. Overall, keep the Logo Creator if you need to and nix the Print Shop. Make an ornament out of the CD or something..but don't use it for any good quality print media.
Great Product! [Posted on 2008-12-22] I have found the software easy to use, especially when importing information from other documents. The templates are helpful in producing professional looking newsletters and brochures
