Arrived dead [Posted on 2008-09-23] The battery will not take a charge. the charger green led comes
on instantly like it is fully charged. I bought this because I read good
reviews about it. I am getting a replacement after a long time trying
to get in touch with Adorama, and of course I have to pay return shipping
and waste plenty time. I hope the 2nd unit works.
Better than the original. [Posted on 2008-10-01] My wife and I got sick of our camera always dying, especially since the Canon Elph we have doesn't have a battery life meter. The thought in getting this was to at least have another battery to drop in once the one in the camera is empty. We've been pleasantly surprised at how much better the replacement battery has been since it's been outlasting the original (even when the original was new). Totally worth the $7 or so (I think with shipping that's what I paid.) especially when you see either the original or even this model for a lot more other places. Oh, and it arrived pretty quickly after I placed the order. Good stuff all around.
Bait and Switch Battery Offer [Posted on 2008-10-07] Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1XRPDS1HN0JSI I ordered this Lemnar battery for a back up for my new Canon camera, battery and charger. You will see here that this is a "Bait and Switch" offer, it is NOT the Lemnar DLC4L that was sent, but a generic, no name/ID battery which box states: For NB-4L.
Update: This "Lemnar brand that is actually generic" battery was purchased from The Battery Center through Amazon, which is noticeably missing from their list of sellers now, 1 day after submitting this footage. The current sellers demand more than $7.00 a battery now, almost 4X price we all paid The Battery Center, not including shipping. Hmm...I wonder if their batteries are generic too...
Save the packaging! Mine was a dud. [Posted on 2008-10-08] I like to have a spare battery, so I can always have a backup ready. I have a Canon NB-4L and a Power2000 (non name-brand) equivalent. Recently I noticed the Power2000 runs out of power so quickly, much faster than the Canon. So, I thought I'd buy another Canon brand, when I stumbled across this product on Amazon. I was so happy to find this battery - excellent user ratings and great price. As soon as it came, I popped it in the charger.
The orange and green lights blinked in an alternating pattern. I thought "that's strange, usually it's all orange until it turns green." So, I checked connections and double-checked - everything fit. I compared visually to the old batteries - it looked the same. I plugged it in again - blink city. The next morning, I tried it anyway. The camera was dead. The battery did not charge at all.
Unfortunately, I have thrown away the packaging. Save the packaging until you know if it works, so you can return it if not.
Great to have a 2nd battery, but not as much run-time [Posted on 2008-10-09] This battery only lasts about 1/2 to 3/4 the standard stock battery that comes with the cannon. Of course it was less money, so I can't complain too much. Definitely worth having a backup, so you don't get stuck with one battery and not be able to take pics at that "moment".
