Awesome Camera [Posted on 2004-03-10] This is an Awesome camera. I tried the equivalent Vivitar Camera, it was horibble! This little camera blows it away. I also bought rechargable batteris(a must have), a 64 MB SD Card (also must have)and I bought a HP Photosmart 435 photoprinter. The printer is awesome and together it prints out beautiful pixs! I would highly recommend this to anybody!! :)
Great camera, great price! [Posted on 2005-07-02] This digital camera is a huge bang for your buck. As a quick sidenote--if you are very into photography, this camera is NOT for you.
I'm the average picture-taker: I use my camera for vacation pictures and pictures of my friends on crazy-drunk nights in college. This camera is great for average picture-taking. The quality is great, the menu and design is very easy to use, and unloading pictures to the computer is virtually dummy-proof. The only downfall I can find is the battery life, especially when using the viewfinder. It seems like the batteries run our VERY quickly, which is unfortunate in a vacation-like setting. However, there might be some accessories to help with this problem. Overall, I would highly recommend this camera; I've had mine for 2 years and haven't had a single problem.
A good camera for beginners [Posted on 2006-03-26] I've had this camera since it first became available (about 2002) and it has served me well. I would suggest this camera for anyone who isn't exactly "technologically" savvy, it's extremely simple to use. It's a littel thicker than the average digi cam out these days, it lacks the sleek, trendy look. It gobbles up 4 AA batteries at a time. All in all, those are the only drawbacks -- this is a pretty OK camera.
More Than You'd Expect for the Price [Posted on 2006-10-07] My hubby and I bought this camera in 2003 for $100. I cannot even count how many photos were taken on this thing. Between vacations, the birth of our son and the weekly photos of our son since that time, probably thousands! Anyway, we've gotten a lot of use out of it and it just broke (actually, the camera still works but the battery door on the bottom of the camera won't stay closed and the batteries fall out all the time.) My only complaint has been that the batteries don't last long. Also, there is video capability (30 seconds) but no sound. However, for first-time digital camera this was great. Now, I get to upgrade to something with even more optical zoom and video with audio capabilities for the same price that I paid for this camera 3 years ago!
As a first camera, it's okay... [Posted on 2006-12-11] When I was given this camera 4 years ago, the HP Photosmart 320 was thought of one of the more technologically advanced cameras of its time.
Now years later, with it's bulky body, virtually NO optical zoom, and low megapixel count, this camera is thought more as an electrical monstrosity than anything else.
The pictures taken with this "thing" usually come out horrible or below average, even on highest quality. Blurred and grainy images are frequent with this camera and red-eye pictures even more. Don't expect much in video mode,
On the plus side, the camera is durable, and the pictures come out okay in bright sunlight. The Photosmart 320 is also easy to understand, and buttons are prominently marked and big enought for most finger sizes.
If you're looking for a cheap, lower-end point-and-shoot with average shots and durability, this camera is probably the one for you.
